Australia’s rich tapestry of flora never ceases to amaze us, and our local region is no exception, adorned with vibrant blooms that beckon birds and catch the eye with their stunning colours. If you share our fascination with these bursts of nature’s artwork, get ready for a treat. The Mudgee Microscope Group is excited to extend a warm invitation to you for an event that promises to combine your love for nature’s hues with artistic expression. Join us for “Botanical Brushstrokes” on Saturday, October 28th, and let’s create something unique inspired by native plants.

Before we dive into the details of this exciting event, let’s take a moment to introduce the Microscope Group. We’re a passionate community of nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and curious minds who share a deep appreciation for the natural world. Our group provides a platform for individuals from all walks of life to come together, explore, and learn about the incredible biodiversity that surrounds us.

Our mission is simple: to foster a greater understanding of our local environment by delving into the microcosms that often go unnoticed. We believe that through knowledge and community, we can forge a stronger understanding of the unique landscapes we call home.

At “Botanical Brushstrokes,” we’re excited to have the talented artist Felicity Cavanough from Art by You as our guide. Felicity’s passion for art and nature is infectious, and she’ll lead us on a creative journey inspired by our beloved native species. Under Felicity’s expert guidance, you’ll explore the vibrant colours, delicate textures, and hidden intricacies of our local plants. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just wanting to enjoy a fun day out trying something new, this workshop is designed to cater to all skill levels. With a glass of wine in hand, delightful nibbles at your fingertips, and the soothing backdrop of Gooree Park this event is a celebration of nature not to be missed.

What can you expect from “Botanical Brushstrokes”? As you delve into your artwork, you’ll also gain insights into the plant you’re painting, enhancing your appreciation for the natural world. Christine McRae a botanist and local Landcare volunteer will be at our side to give some insights into some of our iconic native species. It’s an educational experience wrapped in creativity, and it’s bound to leave you inspired.

We can’t wait to see you at “Botanical Brushstrokes.” Join us for a day of creativity, exploration, and conversation. Reserve your spot today and get ready to paint the beauty of our native plants. Tickets include a glass of wine, and nibbles. Please note that this event will be held outdoors, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Gooree Park.
