Treasured Volunteers!

It takes a special type of person to dedicate over 15 years to volunteer work in the community. Hunter White is the treasurer of Watershed Landcare, Landcare NSW and the Mudgee Show Society. We’d like to congratulate Hunter on his certificate of appreciation awarded by the Commonwealth Bank’s Not-for-Profit Treasurer’s Awards. We’d like to extend a warm thanks to him for his diligence and continued generosity over the years.

It’s truly remarkable to see the impact one can make on a community organisation over that time. Hunter has become a crucial part of the Watershed Landcare committee and is a respected leader in the community.

Hunter is just one stand-out example of the many volunteers that Landcare depends on to continue creating positive change. We are surrounded by passionate and diverse volunteers and committee members with different views, strengths and ideas. That is the beauty of a volunteer organisation; it’s open to anyone who wants to be involved and have a voice!

Watershed Landcare is at an exciting point in time. We have been fortunate to secure several funding opportunities to deliver some interesting and meaningful projects. Our scope is growing. Now, more than ever, we will need the support of our community and are putting the call out for people that think they have something to offer as a volunteer. You might have ideas, expertise or just be interested in knowing what’s going on at an organisational level. Sitting on the committee or being involved as a volunteer is a rewarding experience; it is a chance to give back to your community and the environment.

Landcare has been an effective community force since the ’80s. Watershed Landcare has evolved and changed over the years. We are now eager to deliver powerful outcomes around drought and bushfire recovery and social connectedness. We have some exciting things coming up later this year, and in 2022, we’d love you to be a part of it! Get in touch with us if you would like to find out more: info@watershedlandcare.com.au
