New Faces!

Published 17th December 2021. Written by Maddison O’Brien

An Annual General Meeting sounds boring, but our event hosted at Augustine last month was nothing short of inspiring! How wonderful it was to see so many new faces and catch up with everyone; we had an astounding 40 people turn up to share in great conversation about our incredible landscape and get involved with the Watershed Landcare community. Thank you to all who came along!

If you missed out, don’t despair! Following on from the tremendous success of the AGM, we’ll be hosting a series of similar events next year featuring insights into our projects and some guest speakers you won’t want to miss. Pencil in 27th February 2022 for an engaging, social morning to start the year!

Keep your eye out for more volunteer opportunities in the New Year; we have big plans for revegetation & community projects, and even a women’s welding course! We’ve been collecting ideas from the members to facilitate events and activities that people want. If you have any ideas, then now would be a great time to drop us an email so we can add them to our already filling up schedules.

We’d like to welcome our newest committee members! Christine Corner, Evelyn Nicholson, John McCrea and Karima Bennetts! Also, at the AGM, Sonia Christie has graciously stepped up to be the new Chair of Watershed Landcare; Sonia is a local grazier and property owner who brings passion, experience and enthusiasm to lead the Watershed vision! What a rockstar team we have going into 2022 to create opportunities and value for the community!

We’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! Thank you to the Watershed community for supporting us throughout 2021 and to everyone who has purchased some plants from our nursery; it is truly appreciated! If you’re keen to get involved in our communities of practice, the committee or as a volunteer, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch at info@watershedlandcare.com.au and look out for many exciting events and projects in 2022.
