Get ready because the highly anticipated Mudgee Small Farm Field Days are just around the corner! Join us at the Strawbale Building on July 7th and 8th, where Watershed Landcare will be offering an array of fantastic experiences. One highlight you won’t want to miss is our renowned Landcare Learnings talk series, which will be in full swing throughout both days. It’s the perfect opportunity to stop by, say hello, and dive into the world of our wonderful special interest groups. We’ve lined up some incredible local guests who will be sharing their knowledge and experiences with you. This is your chance to get a taste of what Watershed Landcare does within the community and discover how you can access the abundant learning and social opportunities we provide.

The Landcare Learnings talk series will take place on both days, spotlighting our Special Interest Groups. Here’s a sneak peek of the lineup: At 10AM, don’t miss internationally renowned farmer and grazier, Col Seis. He will delve into sustainable grazing practices, drought preparedness, and the Grazing Group.

Join ‘The Regenerative’ Josh Frappell at 11AM as he discusses soils and enabling balance in our landscapes. Bring your soil health questions and get ready for an informative and engaging session with the Microscope Group.

If you’re a plant enthusiast, make sure to attend the Landcare Nurseries talk on Native Planting Insights at 12PM. Christine McRae and Wendy Arnott, two experts in the field, will share their legendary knowledge to help you achieve success and enjoyment when planting native species.

At 1PM, immerse yourself in the world of bees and pollinators. Sandi Munro of the Mudgee Bee Group, an experienced beekeeper, will guide you through the basics of beekeeping and show you how to support these critical pollinators in your own garden.

Wrap up the day at 2PM with Katie Doherty, a Rural Lifestyle Coach, as she advocates for Watershed Women. Hear inspiring stories of women learning from women and the importance of community in building resilience and empowerment.

In addition to the talk series, our stall at the Strawbale Building offers more to explore. Visit the Landcare Nursery to find a diverse selection of native plants for your paddock or garden. Indulge in the delightful honey and beeswax products available at the Bee Group stall. Don’t forget to stop by and meet the friendly Dry Creek Farm Goats, where Mike and Billie will be happy to discuss permaculture and weed management. And be sure to check out our sustainable farming resources and learn about the benefits of Landcare membership.

Mark your calendars and get ready for an enriching day. We can’t wait to see you there!
