FARM FINANCIAL FORUM
How do you manage and utilise your capital gain compared to other landholders?
Is agriculture different to any other business venture?
What makes a successful agricultural business?
What opportunities exist for the future?
How can a agribusiness in the driest part of South Australia be just as profitable as one in Northern NSW that gets over 1000mm of annual rainfall?
These are some of the questions that will be answered on Thursday 3rd December 2009 at the Farm Financial Forum, hosted by Watershed Landcare. The forum will provide land managers with a thought provoking look at the economic and financial outlook for agriculture in our region.
Billed as being essential for all people interested in operating a successful agricultural business, the Farm Financial Forum promises to open minds to the local and global trends influencing agricultural commodities and rural property pricing.
Keynote speaker, Michael Pascoe, one of Australia’s most respected and experienced finance and economics commentators with 36 years in newspaper, broadcast and on-line journalism will present an overview of the future of agricultural commodities in the world market.
A most entertaining and provocative speaker on matters financial, economic and political, Michael appears on Channel 7’s Sunrise and news programs and is Contributing Editor for the Sydney Morning Herald.
Peter Druitt, Peter Druitt & Co. Mudgee, will discuss local rends in rural property pricing and compare these to medium and long term trends in commercial and industrial properties. He will also shed light on the approach some established landholders take with respect to capital gain of rural holdings as compared to other landholders and absentee investors.
John Francis, Holmes and Sackett, will present an analysis of extensive benchmarking of rural businesses. He will explain why some businesses perform better than others in drought and other downturns and what they do differently.
The speakers promise to be entertaining and provocative on matters agricultural, financial, economic and political.
